How to time a race
You record finish times only. Bib numbers are the scribe's job and get matched to the times afterwards.
Set up
The week number is detected automatically, so there is nothing to set.
If anything is left on screen from last time, tap Reset All, then OK.
Start the race
When the race starts, start the timer. It counts down 3, 2, 1 and then goes.
Call out the time every 10 seconds, and keep calling it the whole way through. Competitors who have not started yet still need it.
As each finisher crosses
Tap LAP as each runner crosses the line. The finisher count goes up by one each tap.
Cross-check often: ask the Finish Tokens volunteer what number they are about to hand out. Your count should sit one behind theirs. If your screen shows 60, they should be about to hand out 61. If you are behind, tap LAP a few extra times to catch up.
Finish up
After the last runner is in, give a final LAP if needed, then stop the timer.
Tap Sync to Sheet to send the times straight to the handicapper.
No signal? Use Download CSV or Copy to Clipboard instead, then sync once you are back online.
Afterwards
Leave the times on the timer until the week's results are published, just in case.
Once results are published, clear with Reset All, then OK.
